Raventós d Alella
A region of more than 2,000 years, with a variety that only occurs in these 300 ha, next to Barcelona. A granitic soil, the sauló, low in nutrients, maintains a fresh, long acidity absolutely unique combined with a fantastic level of maturation that show the typicality of the Pansa Blanca, a variety that has an impressive aging capacity.
Portal del Montsant
Since 2001 the Portal del Montsant project has been developed in the Priorato, between Ballmunt, El Molar and El Lloar, recovering abandoned terraces and hillsides, working with the main autochthonous varieties of the territory: Garnacha and Cariñena. The climate of the area (Masroig, Molar, La Figuera, Mar-çà) is mainly Mediterranean, with some continental characteristics in the vineyards located further north and higher than the DO (700-800 meters) as Cornudella.
TOBÍA is the name of grape, of wine and we are part of a land with the name of wine, LA RIOJA. Since 2001 the Portal del Montsant project has been developed in the Priorato, between Ballmunt, El Molar and El Lloar, recovering abandoned terraces and hillsides, working with the main autochthonous varieties of the territory: Garnacha and Cariñena. We want to transmit our roots to our land, to the culture and tradition that we have inherited, to which we combine innovation and enthusiasm to offer wines that make us enjoy life, wines made naturally and simply.
The vineyards, with a type of clayey and calcareous soil that achieves a greater thermal maintenance of the soil and extreme weather conditions typical of the region, lay the foundations to produce wines where the great body and graduation are classic. The vines are protected from the winds by the hills that surround the valleys of the Ebro and are located in the high parts where the risk of frost decreases. If we add to this that the average age of the strains oscillates between 20-25 years, we obtain an ideal age from the productive and qualitative point of view.
Tionio is one of those wineries that aroused discreet interest, which was discovered by the best fans thanks to the very high level of their work and which is becoming essential in the menus of the best restaurants in the country. It is based on a unique wine project, with abnormally low yields, with a level of wild selection and levels of candor, purity self-required hard to find. This house maintains and will maintain its vocation to serve the fans. Prices have not increased above the cost of living even in recent years, when demand exceeds the production we are capable of producing at the level we have set.
Located in the eastern part of the Baetic Mountains, 80 km from the Mediterranean and at a height of 600 m above sea level, Jumilla boasts a continental Mediterranean climate which is semi-arid in nature. It also has a very irregular rainfall of about 300 litres a year, mostly in spring and autumn. It is sometimes torrential and often falls with hailstones.
In a dream landscape, sheltered under the rock of Etxauri, flanked by the sierras of Sarbil and El Perdón, and with the river Arga as a natural delimiter, Bodega Otazu has recovered an important piece of its history by retaking the art of making wine. For centuries, the vineyard has been one of the most important, if not the main, agricultural riches of the Navarrese pre-Pyrenean basins, including the capital of the Kingdom, Pamplona, once an important wine center, where it is estimated that there were up to 2,000 farmers who lived from its cultivation.
Bodegas Thesaurus is located in the “gold mile” of the Ribera del Duero, it’s born by the hand of Martín Verástegui family, with a wine tradition that comes from 1930. Gregorio Martín and Begoña Verástegui, together with their children, Álvaro and Blanca, are in charge of giving continuity to this family project that is already in hands of its fourth generation. It has been made a recent reformation of the winery in 2016 that tries to increase the production, as well as introduce the most modern vinification systems, without losing the handcrafted techniques that has been transmitted from generation to generation and that leads unique wines.
